My journey from Livingston in 1968 has certainly been a "long and winding road." I graduted from the University of Pittsburgh in 1972 following four tumultuous years of political activation (remember the anit-war movement?), theater, and taking my place amongst the "Woodstock Generation" (yes, I WAS there). When I left Pittsburgh, my trail led through California, Virginia, Florida, Atlanta, back to Virginia and ultimately to central Pennsylvania. After I cut my hair, my working career somehow led me back to my roots in retail - where after "climbing the corporate ladder" in the chain drug industry, I again broke ranks and have been operating my own health food store for 13 years (much more rewarding than my corporate years). I met my (first and only) wife of 32 years in a hospital elevator in Richmond, Virginia in 1973 and we now have one son whom we are pround to see taking Chiropractic school by storm, and will be getting married in June 2008 to a "Jersey Girl"! After a lifetime of not looking back, I am very excited to renew some high school connections! (And yes, I am STILL called Jeff!) (Updated 1/15/08) 40th Reunion attendee.
Wood, Alan   alanj.wood@btinternet.com
I was a classmate for just our senior year - as an AFS exchange student from New Zealand. After leaving LHS, I returned to New Zealand and went to college there. For the last 25 years I have been working in pharmaceutical R&D in Switzerland, the UK and France. Along the way I got married, had two sons (now in their 20s), divorced, and remarried five years ago. Now living in the south of France. My one year in LHS had a huge impact on my life and I hope I can make it to the reunion to catch up with old friends. (Updated 6/20/08) 40th Reunion attendee.
Woodhall, Ashley

Deceased.

(From Sandy Schantz)
Sometime in the late 1970s I went to visit Ashley with Ricky Kaufman. Ricky didn’t graduate from Livingston High but he went through the elementary school system and was my neighbor on Alcott Drive. Ricky remembered Ashley from school and wanted to see how he was doing considering his disability. Ashley lived with his sister in a really old house on North Livingston Avenue. His sister was really happy that someone would come and visit Ashley and thanked us for trying to show Ashley that people haven’t forgotten him regardless of his condition. I’ve got to admit that all the credit should go to Ricky. It also reminds me of the kindness and concern of the classmates who visited Jim Snyder.

(from David Gordon)
I didn't graduate from Livingston high School; I moved away in 1964. I was a friend and neighbor of Ashley's, but I knew him as Buttons. We played together often for years. He was a nice boy and I enjoyed his company. He lived in a big old house with his mother, his older brother and his younger sister. I believe her name is Claire Lynn. I have thought of Buttons from time to time in the years since I last saw him . I was saddened to hear of his death, much more than I would have expected. We all lose when any one of us leaves this earth.
